Jack

A crocheted pumpkin in a gradient type yarn shading from plum to magenta to orange to orange-yellow. The stem and "ridges" are orange-yellow. The lid doesn't sit exactly straight, betraying that it's a covered bowl not a mere decoration.

Notes & Photos:
Oct 24: A week to go! I need to come up with something yesterday since my original idea didn't pan out. So what can I crochet that's pumpkin related to add to our Patch? ...

later: Ah ha! There are patterns for cute pumpkin containers that people use for candy dishes and whatnot. Perfect. I can crochet one relatively quickly and then get back to my black cat for the MAL

later: This is the inside started. The outside has shaping that you stuff to look like an actual gourd.
What looks like a small crocheted bag in a variegated yarn that flows from orange to orange-pink to red purple from bottom to the round being worked on.

Oct 27 (7:38pm): Most people take the insides out of pumpkins. Then there's me adding insides to one lol!
The item resembles a round crocheted basket with a large spoke in the center. The space between the "spoke" and the wall is very narrow and filled with white chenille textured yarn.

This is the view from the bottom. I need to join the last round on the pumpkin's side to the ridge on the base to finish the bowl/pot base. Then onto the embroidery to make the sides look more pumpkin like, followed by the lid.

(later; 8:21pm): And the bowl section est fini! This may be the oddest colored pumpkin in the patch :D
A vaguely gourd shaped crocheted bowl. The color changes, top to bottom, from plum to magenta to orange to orange-yellow. The "bumps" are delineated by straight stitch embroidery in the orange-yellow color.

Time for the lid!

(later; 1:51am): And done! My magical pumpkin is ready to be shown off to the world :)
The finished bowl with the lid off to one side. You can just see a hint of the colors inside the bowl.

View from directly above, looking into the bowl, with the lid to one side.
