Glow of Autumn Bag

 

Vertically striped bag in shades of orange

Pattern: 4-ways Berets by Elise Duvekot (published in Knitter's Magazine, Issue 95, Summer 2009), with the English Rose Tweed pattern in the second of Barbara Walker's treasuries

Started: September 22, 2009

Finished: October 12, 2009

Made for: Nat

Yarns: Noro Chirimen (60% cotton, 24% silk, 16% wool; 137yds = 50g)
  • 1 ball of "Colour 6 Lot B"; 137 yds
Diamond Luxury Collection Fine Merino Superwash 4-ply (100% merino; 219yds = 50g)
  • partial ball of "2100 Orange"; 140 yds
Diamond Luxury Collection Alpaca Paint (100% alpaca; 109yds = 50g)
  • 1 ball of "DY006 Fall variegated"; 109 yds
386 yds total

Needle size: 4.0mm/ US 6

Notes: Have started today! Am using the “4ways Beret” pattern by Elise Duvekot (Knitter’s magazine, Summer 09 p44) for the bottom. I plan to use the “English Rose Tweed” patt from Barbara Walker’s 2nd treasury for the sides; at this point anyway. 
In the picture, I’ve started using the Noro Chirimen & the Merino.

9/29: Sat at GW & knit for 4 hrs today! Bag is done, other than lining and drawstrings!!! Everyone thought it is pretty. 

10/12: Finally done! Was knocked out last week by sinus-troubles. Poor Nat gets this late. Finished pic to follow soon ;)
