Spiral Hat

A blue tabby point Siamese cat models a brightly multicoloured hat. All you see of the hat is bright pops of blue, green, and pink framing the cat\

Ravelympics 2010 Project #3 :)
Started 2/23 @ 12:15am CST
Knit 8 rnds of 2x2 ribbing before starting patt. Liked the 8rnds with the 8st patt repeat ;)
2/25: Sailing along quite nicely; even tried it on last night (see pic at left)
2/26: Finished as of 8:41pm CST :) Pics up tomorrow :)
3/02: Meet my lovely model, Sinatra in the top photo. Contrary to belief, she is not French, although she does get called “Madame” ;)

Additional photos:

A few rounds of ribbing arranged on three double-pointed needles.
2/23: And so it begins!

Several rounds of ribbing can be seen in unstraight stripes of pink, dark blue, lighter blue, and green.
2/23: That should do it for the ribbing

Trying on the hat while in progress; you can see the double-pointed needles sticking out from the top!
2/24: the try on photo

The crown of the hat showing the swirl pattern. It came out almost perfectly striped in a dark pink, moving inwards to a lighter pink, to a speckle of pink and green, to a bright green where the top of the hat is finished off.
2/26: All done :) I love the swirls

View of the hat laid flat from the side; the swirl pattern is very clear as are the uneven stripes due to the yarn's coloration.
2/26: Finished :) It looks so cheerful
