Under the Sea Bag

Striped bag in several shades of blues and greens with pops of lilac.

Pattern: Bottoms Up! by Elise Duvekot for the basic instructions. Railroad Tracks by same designer for the stripe sequence (both published in her book "Knit One Below")

Finished: May 14, 2009

Made for: Monique

Yarns: Bernat Softee Baby Ombres and Prints (100% acrylic; 333yds = 120g)
  • part of skein of "variegated blue/green"
Red Heart Soft Touch (100% acrylic; 281yds = 140g)
  • part of skein of "teal"
Red Heart Super Saver Multis (100% acrylic; 130yds = 70g)
  • 1 skein of "Ocean"

Notes: I modified the pattern slightly. I used the “Railroad Tracks” pattern for the sides of the bag, as I liked how this looked with the 2 variegateds and 1 solid better. I used acrylic yarns, so couldn’t felt the bag, but I did line it, which was quite a feat! She liked it.
