My Irish Shawl

A lace shawl laid on a lawn.

Pattern: Irish Diamond Shawl by Cheryl Oberle (from her book "Folk Shawls")

Finished: 2002

Made for: Síle aka me

Yarn: Patons Kroy 2-ply Color: marled blue/green with lavender specks

  • used 3 balls
Needle size: 4.5mm/ US 7

Notes: Finally getting this put up :) Don’t remember exact dates for it. The particular yarn was discontinued quite awhile ago; 2004, I think. This was my first lace project; nothing like jumping in! I added the edging; don’t remember where I got it from!

Additional photos:
Closer in view showing the two main diamond patterns in the body of the shawl.

Even closer up view if the top/first diamond lace pattern.

Shawl draped over the front step railing, showing the near transparent nature of the fine lace
